The Power of Praying the Word of God
Many in the Body of Christ feel discouraged about their walk with the Lord. They find themselves living with the yo yo effect, one day hot and one day cold when it comes to maintaining their spiritual relationship with the Lord. Deep inside they really want to have a strong relationship, but struggle with distractions getting in their way and changing their focus. This is something we all have to overcome, to develop that strong bond with the Lord.
Many find themselves getting anxious about it and try to put themselves on a regimented schedule. They end up failing, because they are trying to do it in their own strength. When I faced this problem, I found a really important key that helped me overcome the distractions, that came to take me off course from the Lord. Instead of being anxious, I just set aside a few minutes three times a day to confess and meditate the Word of God over my decisions and disciplines. I just started saying what God said about me in the Word. Instead of complaining about how bad I was and how I could not keep my focus on the Lord, I started saying, I am standing firm in united spirit and purpose, striving and contending side by side with a singled mind for the faith, in the Name of Jesus (Phil. 1:27).
When I started doing this I was washing my soul, (mind. will and emotions) with the water of the Word of God and my nature started to change (Eph. 5:26). The Word started cleansing my soul of all the carnal debris that kept coming up and it was like those temptations no longer enticed me to put my time with the Lord, in second place. My love for the Lord and making time for His Word grew and I starting planning everything around my time with Him.
So this is the the secret to TREMENDOUS and lasting change. Start washing your soul with the water of the Word of God and let God's power change you from the inside out. Your desires, priorities, and nature will change by His power working in you and you won't have to make it happen on your own. God Bless, Sandy
